How it works

Discount 1 is applied to the original price first. If you enter a second discount, it is applied to the result — the way stacked or "extra off" offers work.

  • Percent discounts are a share of the current price: 10% off 100 removes 10.
  • Amount discounts remove a fixed value from the current price.
  • Stacking is not additive. 10% off followed by another 10% off is 19% off in total, not 20% — the second 10% applies to the already-reduced price.
  • The effective discount is total savings divided by the original price.

Frequently asked questions

Is 10% off plus 10% off the same as 20% off?

No. The second discount applies to the reduced price, so on a 100 item you pay 90 then 81 — a 19% total saving. A flat 20% would leave 80.

Can a discount be a fixed amount?

Yes. Switch the type to "Amount" and enter the value to subtract, for example "10 off" instead of "10% off".

What if the discount is larger than the price?

The calculator shows an error instead of a negative price. Percent discounts are capped at 100%.

Does it use a specific currency?

No. The tool works with plain numbers, so it is the same calculation in any currency.
